Social Enterprise: Have your cake and eat it too
A social enterprise is an organization that uses commercial strategies for the benefit of society. It may be non-profit or for-profit, as long as it's sustainable and purpose-driven.
Katie Subley (Ex- WA Director of the School for Social Entrepreneurs) and Nancy Zheng (President of Enactus UWA) will be facilitating a deep dive into the experiences of successful Perth social entrepreneurs. We've got some really awesome young social entrepreneurs coming along!
Joining us will be:
- Nick Maisey: Founder of BeFriend - a social enterprise that connects Perth adults through social events and educational programs
- Chris Breidahl: Founder of MyGuru - a social enterprise that provides an online tutoring service for high school students
- Angie Parker: Founder of Rana Clothing - a social enterprise that designs and sells fair-trade fashion
This workshop is absolutely free and no experience, startup ideas or memberships are required! Capacity is limited, so make sure you register!
This event is part of our "Skills that uni won't teach you" workshop series, that will be running every academic week of the semester at Thursday 4pm in the Innovation Hub. Keep on the look-out for more!
