Public Speaking & Pitching: Remember Your Words

Entrepreneurs need to be able to convincingly pitch their ideas. We'll walk you through how to improve your public speaking and pitching. Pitch your idea after the workshop for some feedback and relax with some end of week drinks. 4pm: Public speaking workshop 5pm: Pitching, feedback and Friday night drinks What you’ll learn in the workshop: · How to remember the words for your next speech (and ensure you don’t go blank) · The simple “1-2-3” framework you can use for ANY speech or presentation to make writing a snap, even if you’re not a writer! · The golden rule for assembling a speech people will love (so short & sweet, you can write this rule on the back of your hand) · The one element to always include in your speeches for maximum impact (nope, it’s not facts or data!) This workshop will be facilitated by Mara Korstanje, Visual Designer at Tinderbox Creative! Leading their Design House, Mara works with clients to visualise brands and communicate ideas in ways that are both beautiful and effective. Following on from our workshop last Semester, Mara will be talking about the archetypal psychology and story branding process used by Tinderbox, and how that translates into design! Join us to learn both about this invaluable (and fun!) branding process and how to link it to design. This free workshop will be a combination of presentations and activities. Gen's journey in becoming one of Australia’s most successful female entrepreneurs and the Founder of OneShift began in 2011 when she was just 22 years old. Now aged 24, Gen has been announced as 5th in ‘Smart Company’s Hot 30 Under 30 2015’ in Australia and ‘Silver Winner of Young Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2014 & 2015’.  Since launching three years ago, OneShift has blossomed from its early days of marketing with duct tape and paper posters to being one of Australia’s most innovative startups.  OneShift now stands at around 40 employees and has secured a $5million investment from recruitment company Programmed.
